InternshipsPlus is
a pure online operation that seeks to enhance employability opportunities among
young Nigerians by creating a platform where employers can source new talent
and cultivate them for the advantage of their organization. The platform is
targeted at helping Nigerian youths within the ages of 18 and 30 to get their
feet in the door through opportunities to intern with companies and businesses.
InternshipsPlus
aims to help Nigerian youths build on the deficiency in practical skills and
career training afforded by the educational system (which focuses more on the
theoretical). It gives an opportunity to maximize the blocks of idle time
created by inconsistencies in the calendars of the country's tertiary
institutions. 60% of Nigerian youths are
unemployed and by taking up unpaid internships to gain useful skills
beneficiaries of this program could well secure permanent job placements with
these companies. However, no promises are made regarding permanent job
placement after participating in the internship program.
